Waterproofing membrane FOILTEC.
Waterproofing membrane made of laminated polyethylene, it is mainly installed in areas with a high presence of humidity while the ceramic covering is placed using an appropriate adhesive for tiles. The membrane, made from a soft and highly elastic material, also compensates for small movements that may occur between the substrate and the covering, ensuring no bacterial transmission of harmful substances. The Foiltec membrane includes a complete range of accessories that adapt to the different specific installation needs, contributing to an installation in accordance with the rules of the art.
How to install the FOILTEC membrane
The support surface must be flat, clean, and free of irregularities; the membrane must be pre-cut before installation. Waterproof tile adhesives should be used, applying a notched trowel with a size of approximately 3x3 mm. Subsequently, press firmly with the flat side of the trowel to ensure the membrane adheres to the support, avoiding the formation of air bubbles, possibly with the help of a pressure roller. At the joints, the membrane should overlap by 5 cm or, alternatively, pre-cut FOILTEC 15/10 strips can be used in overlap. For quality work, it is mandatory to include the preformed internal and external corners FOILTEC/I/G and FOILTEC/E/G, as well as the specific piece for pipes FOILTEC/T20/G.
